Gallery OKTO began as a showroom for Ceramic Artist Marietta Theodorou-LeMieux in 2003. Marietta is an eighth generation potter originally from Greece.
Her work can be seen alongside her late father's work in all the Museums of Ceramics and Popular Arts in Greece. Since she moved to the U.S. in 1995 she became an exhibiting member of the American Craft Council, her work is in numerous private collections and is represented through many of the best galleries in the country. In 2008 and 2006 she was a Bush Foundation Artist Fellowship Finalist.
The gallery has expanded to include the work of other fellow artists from the American Craft Council, as well as acclaimed artists from Greece. All the work is chosen for its unique character and exquisite design.
Nowhere else in the Twin Cities can you find such an extraordinary mix of the best of the best, work that sets trends instead of trying to follow them. We are the only gallery in the Twin Cities owned and operated by an exhibiting member of the American Craft Council.
Gallery OKTO was recently nominated by American Style Magazine as one of the top 100 Craft Galleries in the country.
As of February 1, 2011 we are operating by appointment only.
